Measure before buying sets
Record mattress width, length, and depth for each room, including any topper. Check the fit range of fitted sheets and protectors. A mattress-size name alone may not tell you whether a deep pocket or specialty fit is needed.
Check sleeper sofas separately. Follow the sleeper manufacturer’s instructions for bedding thickness and what must be removed before the mechanism closes.
Separate protection from comfort layers
A protector, pad, topper, sheet, and comforter have different jobs. A pad or topper is not automatically waterproof. Compare the actual coverage and care instructions of mattress protectors.

Choose feel and care together

Look at pillows with their dimensions and care requirements in mind. Protective covers and replacement plans should be considered separately from the pillow’s preferred feel.
Build a workable laundry plan
Choose layers that your equipment or laundry provider can handle according to their labels. Plan for cleaning between stays, full drying, and an inspection before bedding returns to the bed. Keep clean and used items organized separately.
Spare sets can help with turnover while other items are being laundered. The right quantity depends on your number of beds, laundry capacity, and changeover schedule. Label sizes and keep a replacement record.
Make the finished bed straightforward to use
Keep spare bedding in an obvious place and avoid so many decorative layers that guests have nowhere to put them. Check that blankets and sheets fit the actual bed and that the finished setup is easy for housekeeping to repeat.
