Compare real differences
Look at useful dimensions, room clearance, controls and comfort features together. The best chair is the one that works for your body and daily routine.
Compare the features that matter →Before you click “buy”
You can buy a cheap lift chair online. The question is what you’re giving up.
If you will depend on this chair every day, shop for more than the lowest price. A photo and a feature list cannot tell you whether the seat fits, the cushions support you comfortably or the controls are easy for you to use.
A lower price can come from simpler construction, fewer adjustments, self-assembly or a different level of delivery and service. Ask where the savings come from—and what happens if the chair needs attention.
What is underneath the upholstery?
Ask about the frame, lift mechanism, seat support and cushioning. A soft first impression is only one part of choosing a chair you plan to sit in for hours.
Who helps when something stops working?
Find out who handles a failed remote, motor or control box, whether replacement parts are available, and what the written warranty covers for parts, labor and service visits.
What is the real cost of getting it home?
Compare delivery, assembly, placement and the return terms. Ask who moves a heavy chair and who pays return freight if it does not fit or feel right.
At Neill’s, you can sit in available models, try the controls and talk with a local team before making that decision. We will help you compare fit and features, explain the warranty for your selected model and review local delivery options with you.
Bring us the chair you are considering—even if you found it somewhere else. Let’s compare the details together so you know what your money is buying.

A few minutes in the chair can answer a lot

A chair can look perfect and still feel too deep, too tall or difficult to operate. Wear your usual shoes, sit all the way back, and try the remote yourself. We will help you compare seated comfort, reclining support and the lift motion before you decide.
Buying for a parent or family member? Bring their measurements and a photo of the room. If they can visit, having them try the chair is the most useful step.

Start with a comfortable fit and a lift motion you can use confidently. Then compare the extras you will enjoy each day. Features vary by model and configuration.
Power lift
Raises and tilts the seat to assist with getting up and sitting down.
Why compare it? Try the complete motion with our team. You should feel supported and in control at each stop.
Three-position recline
A coordinated reclining path for everyday sitting and relaxing. You can stop along the path.
Why compare it? Useful when straightforward controls matter. Advanced mechanisms may extend the footrest before reclining the back; test the sequence.
Independent / infinite positioning
Lets you adjust the back and footrest separately.
Why compare it? Worth comparing if you want your legs up while your back stays more upright. Ask which movements are actually independent.
Lay-flat, zero gravity and tilt
Different ways of changing your resting position. Lay-flat describes a deep recline; zero gravity describes a cradled posture; tilt changes the seat angle.
Why compare it? Try the exact model. These terms are not interchangeable, and a zero-gravity label does not guarantee a separate tilt motor.
Power headrest and lumbar
Adjusts support behind your head or lower back on equipped models.
Why compare it? Compare while reading or watching TV. The support should meet your body comfortably instead of pushing you forward.
Heat and massage
Adds warmth or a massage sensation. Vibration and air-bladder massage feel different.
Why compare it? Test both the sensation and the controls. More heat zones mean more areas warmed, not necessarily more heat.
Extended footrest
Adds length to the leg-support area.
Why compare it? Useful to compare if a standard footrest feels short. Check your calves and heels in the position you will actually use.
Fabric, remote and battery backup
Changes everyday cleaning, ease of use and what happens during a power outage.
Why compare it? Read the exact fabric care label, operate the remote yourself and ask which emergency backup is supplied.
What a good fit should feel like
Seated upright
Sit back with your feet resting on the floor. The seat should support your thighs without pressing behind your knees. You should reach the armrests and remote comfortably.
Reclined
Check your head, lower back, calves and heels. A little foot overhang can be normal; the important part is comfortable support without a hard edge or unwanted pressure.
In your room
Measure the doorway, delivery path and available floor space. Allow for the back, extended footrest and the full lift motion, with a clear place to stand.

Local delivery details →Lift chair buying questions
Select a question to read the answer.
Is a lift chair different from a power recliner?
A power recliner changes the back and footrest position. A power lift recliner also raises and tilts the seat to assist you in getting up and sitting down. Confirm the lift feature on the model you are considering.
Does a higher weight capacity mean a better fit?
Capacity is a limit you must follow, but it does not tell you whether the seat is the right height, width or depth. Compare all those measurements and try the chair yourself.
Can I use a lift recliner for extended rest?
Try the resting positions and support before choosing. “Lay-flat” describes the reclining range; it does not mean the chair feels like a mattress. If you need particular positioning for a health condition or recovery, ask your healthcare professional what is appropriate, then bring those requirements to us.
What happens if the power goes out?
Emergency backup varies by model. Ask which battery system is included, whether batteries need to be supplied, and which functions it can power. Backup is for emergency use, not everyday unplugged operation.
How do I buy through My Project?
Open a chair’s product page, choose the options you like, and add it to My Project. Submit your project so our staff can confirm the details with you. A project is a request, not a completed order. No payment is collected online.
Can you help me compare heat and massage?
Yes. Ask us to demonstrate available systems and their controls. These are comfort features; choose the sensation and ease of use you prefer. Follow the chair’s instructions and any personal guidance from your healthcare professional.
